The country star is a dad first and an artist second.
Noah Thompson has already worked hard to make a name for himself in the country music community and go after his dreams, but he revealed that one of his biggest goals is more geared toward creating a good life for his family.
The rising country singer/songwriter recently connected with fans through a Q&A on his Instagram stories. While answering a few questions from fans regarding new music releases and upcoming performances, one user took a slightly deeper approach when they asked Thomson about his goals in his life. His answer was simple.
“Hopefully just to play music as long as I can, but my main goal is to raise my son the best I can,” he wrote honestly.
The season 20 winner of American Idol is a father to his 2-year-old son, Walker Lee. Thompson may have moved away from his home in Kentucky to be immersed in Music City, but he still finds plenty of time to prioritize his responsibilities as a parent.
He’s often seen posting about his adventures with his little boy on social media, including fun days at the Nashville Zoo, walks to the playground, and more.
Walker Lee has also starred in Thompson’s music video for his song, “Make You Rich.” This tune which was co-written by Jason Nix, Craig Wiseman, and Driver Williams finds Thompson proving that being rich isn’t always about the amount of money you have, but instead the kind of person you choose to be.

During the Q&A, Fans also used this time to check in on Thompson’s mental health following an update he recently shared to social media in which he apologized to his followers for “not being very active on here.” He then explained that he’s been “dealing with some personal issues” and asked for grace and understanding at this time.
When a follower used the questions prompt to ask if he was okay Thompson responded that he’s “doin the best I can.”
As he continues to navigate both the personal and professional aspects of his life, it’s clear that the 21-year-old has a loyal fanbase to lend their support every step of the way.
Thompson crossed off another major goal earlier this year when he released his debut EP, Middle Of God Knows Where, on June 9, 2023. The six-track project showcases a journey of tremendous grit and determination that began with his time on American Idol. Fans get a taste of his talent through songs like “She Gets It From Me,” “Fall Out Of Love,” “Middle Of God Knows Where” and more.
This record marked the first time the construction worker turned singer/songwriter has showcased songs that he had a hand in writing, as opposed to his previous outside cuts. The title track is one of these original works, along with the brand-new, “Us No More.”
Thompson predicts that these songs are just the start of all the stories he will write in the future as he continues to learn each day.
“I’m still so new to so many things. I had no idea, you know, you go into a room with three, two or three people and you write a song. I had no idea that’s how that works,” he told Country Now. “So I thought that was really kind of neat. But yeah, it’s really cool. It’s a good way to express your emotions and get things out. It’s a cool way to meet new people also and make great friends a long way.”
Along with his CMA Fest performance that took place in June, Noah Thompson has a slew of headlining dates and festival appearances on the books. His next set of shows will include the Adams County Fair, the Braxton County Fair and Ogemaw County Fair.
