Top Boy skyrocketed to the top of the U.K. television charts after its captivating second season premiered in March of 2022. With the season ending on a staggering cliffhanger, fans have been vying for another chapter of the acclaimed Netflix drama. Now, the streamer has announced that the third and final season of Top Boy will premiere on the platform this coming September.
The season begs the question: who deserves to reign as the Top Boy of Summerhouse? Stakes are high and tensions even higher, per a newly-released teaser that focuses on Dushane, played by Ashley Walters, and Sully, played by Kano Robinson, in a slew of dramatic shots. Alongside Walters and Kano, the forthcoming final season will see the return of several cast members, including Simbi Ajikawo, Jasmine Jobson, Saffron Hocking and Araloyin Oshunremi. Barry Keoghan of The Batman and Brian Gleeson of Peaky Blinders will join the cast as new characters, Jonny and Tadgh, respectively.
In a statement, Walters and Kano said, “Whilst the journeys of Dushane and Sully have remained at the core of the show, the new characters that have entered the world of Top Boy have become a key part of the show’s legacy, representing each new storyline in a raw, authentic way.”
Pakistan-born filmmaker Myriam Raja, who had a hand in season one’s mentee program, will direct the first four episodes of the season, with veteran Will Stefan Smith returning for the final two. The show is produced by several notable individuals, including Drake and his business partner Adel “Future” Nur for DreamCrew Entertainment, LeBron James, Maverick Carter and Jamal Henderson for The SpringHill. Walters and Kano serve as executive producers.
