Koenigsegg Unveils 2,300 HP Production-Ready Gemera

Designed to seat four, plus luggage, the Koenigsegg Gemera was expected to run with 1,700 hp, however, since the initial launch of the concept, a few things have changed — the vehicle is now expected to produce an astonishing 2,300 hp and still carry four passengers plus cargo.

To create what would seem to many on paper to be an impossible build, Koenigsegg reimagined and invented parts, including an electrified V8 powertrain, a Radial Flux E-motor dubbed “Dark Matter” and its Light Speed Tourbillon Transmission (LSTT).

“We could not resist exploring the possibility of incorporating these remarkable features and benefits into the Gemera production model, leading us down an exciting new development path — the Light Speed Tourbillon Transmission (LSTT),” explained Christian von Koenigsegg.

Those fortunate enough to order a production model Gemera will have the choice of combining the Dark Matter motor with one of two engines, namely the “Tiny Friendly Giant” (TFG), Koenigsegg’s three-cylinder twin-turbo, or its 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8, essentially a reworked and refitted Jesko engine.

Spec-wise, the TFG sits at 1,400 hp and 1,364 lb-ft of torque, with the 5.0-liter sitting at 2,300 hp and 2,028 lb-ft of torque. All of this power and the Gemera still seats four people with room for cargo.

On the interior, the Gemera features a minimal streamlined design with spec options like material choices and colors yet to be shared, although the maker did reveal four convenient cup holders at the rear and a large multimedia screen dividing the cabin — as well as dedicated speakers and air vents for back seat passengers.

Delivery of the 2,300 hp machine is expected to take place in 2025, with more details available on the maker’s website.
