Cardi B is no doubt enjoying the success of her new hit single “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion, but she’s still disappointed over not being able to perform it live for fans.
“Yoooo I wanna perform WAP so bad with a lot ass crowd.I miss shows and festivals,” Cardi tweeted Saturday (Sept. 5). “Yoooooo I would of went crazy.”
In recent months, thousands of tours and festivals around the world have been postponed or canceled in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. Cardi hasn’t performed for major crowds since numerous global festival appearances in 2019.
One fan responded to the rapper’s tweet, writing, “We miss you performing! It would’ve been such an iconic performance.”
“WAP” recently spent a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. In early August, the controversial track blasted in with 93 million streams, the most ever for a song in its first week of release.
“WAP” also marks the the first song to spend its first two weeks at the top of the Hot 100 since Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings,” which scored five weeks in a row at No. 1 beginning on Feb. 2, 2019.
Last week, Cardi B launched a line of waterproof merch to slide off the success of the hit single. Items in the “WAP”-dedicated store include multi-colored raincoats ($125) and umbrellas ($25), as well as a crop biker set ($40).
