Benedict Cumberbatch has confirmed the return of Doctor Strange in upcoming 2024 Marvel projects, marking a continued journey for the beloved character.
According to The Direct, the actor announced in the JW3 Speaker Series that he will be returning as the titular character for an upcoming MCU film that is set to begin filming next year, “There are some Marvel capers in the making next year.” In the past, Cumberbatch has said on record that he would “love to do another one” and that there is still “so much more to explore.”
Confirming that he will be returning for a third Doctor Strange film, the news puts rumors to rest, while also reassuring fans the continuation of Doctor Strange in the MCU. It is uncertain what the plot will be however, Cumberbatch also confirmed that filming will begin in 2024 for the upcoming film. Doctor Strange will also appear in other MCU projects down the line.
