Juvenile Delivers Lively NPR ‘Tiny Desk’ Concert of Career-Spanning Hits

Juvenile Delivers Lively NPR ‘Tiny Desk’ Concert of Career-Spanning Hits

New Orleans rapper Juvenile headed to NPR for his own Tiny Desk concert, delivering a compilation of career-spanning hits.

For Juvenile, the path to a Tiny Desk was unexpected and lined with humor. In April, Juvenile responded to a fan on Twitter asking if he could do a Tiny Desk Concert, “WTF is a Tiny Desk and no!”

The viral tweet led to the rapper eventually learning what a Tiny Desk is and NPR setting him up with his very own. For the set, he was joined by fellow New Orleans artists Trombone Shorty, Alvin Ford and Jon Batiste. His frequent collaborator and in-house producer DJ Mannie Fresh also joined the lineup, alongside musicians from the Louisiana Philharmonic.

Juvenile delivered renditions of ten songs, including “Set It Off” and “Slow Motion.” Rounding off the set was an energized performance of the fan-favorite, “Back That Azz Up.”
