Travis Scott & Kid Cudi’s ‘The Scotts’ Blasts in at No. 1 on Streaming Songs Chart

Travis Scott & Kid Cudi’s ‘The Scotts’ Blasts in at No. 1 on Streaming Songs Chart

It’s Scott’s fourth No. 1 and Kid Cudi’s first.

Travis Scott earns his fourth No. 1 – and Kid Cudi his first – on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart with “The Scotts,” which debuts atop the list dated May 9.

“The Scotts,” credited to The Scotts, Travis Scott and Kid Cudi, bows at No. 1 with 42.2 million U.S. streams in its first week, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

It’s Scott’s fourth leader and third as a lead artist. He first reigned in October 2018 as a featured artist, alongside Offset, on Kodak Black’s “Zeze,” for three weeks, followed by a one-week reign with “Sicko Mode” (January 2019) and the three-week leader “Highest in the Room” (October 2019).

Three of those songs – “Zeze,” “Highest in the Room” and now “The Scotts” – debuted at No. 1, making Scott just the second artist to have at least three No. 1 debuts on Streaming Songs which began in 2013. The only other act to do so? Drake, who has four, most recently with “Toosie Slide,” which “The Scotts” knocks out of No. 1 on Streaming Songs after a three-week reign.

As for Kid Cudi, “The Scotts” is his first No. 1 on Streaming Songs in his first appearance on the list. He’s the second artist in 2020 to score his first ruler, following Roddy Ricch with “The Box,” and the first to do so in his maiden appearance. (Many of Kid Cudi’s biggest hits, including “Day ‘N’ Nite” and “Pursuit of Happiness (Nightmare),” precede the inception of Streaming Songs.)

The latest Streaming Songs chart marks the first time two songs debut at Nos. 1 and 2 since the list dated Oct. 19, 2019. Now? “The Scotts” is followed by Juice WRLD’s posthumous single “Righteous” (29.1 million streams). Then? Scott’s “Highest in the Room” bowed at No. 1, while Juice WRLD again started one spot behind with his YoungBoy Never Broke Again collaboration “Bandit.”

As previously reported, “The Scotts” bows at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Scott’s third leader and Kid Cudi’s first.
