Insta360 is angling to give GoPro a run for its money with the release of its latest piece of hardware. The GO 3 is billed as the “world’s smallest” action camera, weighing just 1.2 oz (35 g) and smaller than a pinky finger, yet with the capability to record 2.7K 2720 video.
Despite its size, the GO 3 doesn’t skimp out on the features one would typically want from an action camera. For starters, it has 64 GB of storage and a longer battery life than its predecessor, offering 173 minutes of shooting.
If its user is biking or on the go, voice control allows for hands-free shooting. Even if the camera is off, pressing a single button on the front of the camera will simultaneously turn it on and start recording instantly.
Insta360 is also known for its AI-assisted photo and video editing software. The GO 3 is seemingly designed to be used in tandem with its editing services, which can be accessed on a computer or a smartphone.
Price-wise, the GO 3 is comparable to the cost of a Go Pro, going for $380 USD for the standalone camera on Insta360’s website. Add-ons are available at an additional price.
