Making a name for himself as part of the South Korean hip-hop collective, The Cohort, also known as the “Underwater Squad,” Bryan Chase has been a staple of the underground rap scene of Seoul. Born in Seoul and raised in Texas and Virginia, the storied artist is continuing to demonstrate hip-hop’s cross-cultural powers with the release of his EP album 2U, led by a collaboration with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
Released via THEBLACKLABEL and Interscope Records, the title track “2U” was written by Bryan Chase with production by 24, known for his production on BLACKPINK hits like “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” and “Pink Venom.” The melodic single is accompanied by an immersive cinematic music video created by Takayuki Moriya, Executive Producer of the award-winning Japanese virtual human company Aww Inc., and YKBX, an acclaimed animator and video director.
Following his “Nightfall” feature on Taeyang‘s EP Down to Earth, Bryan Chase delivered a pre-release for 2U in the form of a music video for “Restart It.” The official release of 2U explores Chase’s artistic and personal growth, as he explores new sounds and ideas, pushing himself out of his comfort zone. “This album is an embodiment of my deepest thoughts and emotions, my highs and lows, my heaven and hell,” shared the artist. Comprised of six tracks, the EP executive produced by TEDDY features full songwriting from Chase with production from BIG BANANA, 24, and his long-time collaborator JUNIORCHEF.
