Watch A24’s First Official ‘Priscilla’ Teaser

Watch A24's First Official 'Priscilla' Teaser

A24 has provided us with a glimpse into Sophia Coppola’s Graceland, with the first official teaser for its upcoming biopic, Priscilla. The movie, based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 memoir Elvis and Me, stars Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla and Jacob Elordi as Elvis Presley.

The teaser hints that the film will predominantly be told through Priscilla’s POV, taking a different route from Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, which told the story through the eyes of Elvis. Clocking in at 45 seconds, the visual opens with Priscilla’s morning beauty routine before delving into quick shots of the couple’s relationship trajectory, spotlighting dates and photoshoots along with key milestones, like their wedding and Priscilla’s pregnancy.

Just 11 words are spoken in the film’s first look — and they don’t come until the last ten seconds of the trailer. “Priscilla, what about boys at school? Must be some handsome ones…” her mom nudges, as the screen flashes to a close-up of Priscilla and Elvis kissing, followed by brief closing credits and a final screen reading “Coming Soon.”

The production company has already had a significant year, with a diverse collection of new films spanning across genres, including Beau is Afraid, You Hurt My Feelings and most recently, Past Lives. Notably, this isn’t Coppola’s first A24 project; she made her debut with the production company in 2013 with The Bling Ring, and she later returned for On The Rocks in 2020.

A release date is still TBD, but the film is scheduled to hit theaters later this year. Check out the teaser above.

In case you missed it, Cole Bennett’s first short film premiered this weekend.
