Twitter Has Been Evicted From Boulder, Colorado Office Over Unpaid Rent

Twitter has found itself in another debacle, this time over a rent dispute. The company has been evicted from its Boulder, Colorado office after it missed three months rent. The judge had signed off on the eviction notice for the tech giant.

Since Elon Musk took over the company as CEO, Twitter has had numerous reports of unpaid bills. According to the Denver Business Journal, the court documents have indicated that the landlord that owns Twitter’s office in Boulder was provided a $968,000 USD letter of credit back in February of 2020. The money ran out in March and the company has since not paid rent. After taking to court at the end of May, Twitter was served with an eviction notice.

Around 300 employees worked at the Boulder office, however due to layoffs and resignations, it is likely that the number has diminished to at least half. In another case, TechCrunch also saw that a cleaning company is seeking $93,504 USD in unpaid fees from the company. Musk’s takeover of the company has left a trail of unpaid fees that the next CEO will have to address. It remains to be seen how the company will handle these complaints.
