While 81-year-old lifestyle guru Martha Stewart loves a good ol’ thirst trap, she hates the concept of remote work (which I’m literally doing right now, sorry!). The convicted felon and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue star believes that the concept of remote and hybrid work will cause the United States to “go down the drain,” like France. Okay, Martha!
Stewart told Footwear News that she is on a “rampage” against the remote and hybrid work model. “You can’t possibly get everything done working three days a week in the office and two days remotely,” she says. Funny how this isn’t news about footwear.
Stewart continued with a jab against the entire country of France. “Look at the success of France with their stupid…you know, off for August, blah blah blah,” she said. “That’s not a very thriving country. Should America go down the drain because people don’t want to go back to work?” I’m not an economist or global expert, but I’m pretty sure the French are okay? (Minus the retirement age debacle, but that’s a different thing.)
Stewart, who clearly shares the same business philosophy as Miss Kim “Get Up Off Your Ass and Work” Kardashian, also told the outlet, “I haven’t stopped at all. You should see my calendar. It’s horrific.” Maybe it’s just me, but having the entire month of August off sounds better than that.
In May, Martha Stewart explained her obsession with working to People. “There’s no relaxing really going on,” she said of her lifestyle and work ethic. “There’s no reason to retire. I can write sitting down, I can dictate lying down if I have to. I can do any number of things in different places in different ways.” But you know what she can’t do, apparently? Any of those things from her house.
