MTV has revealed that its 2023 Video Music Awards will be held in New Jersey – making a return to the Prudential Center in Newark.
The forthcoming award show will be the second consecutive year at the Prudential Center and the third time at the arena within the past five years. Additionally, MTV is continuing its streak of hosting on the East Coast as this will mark the sixth VMA in a row held in the region.
“We’re thrilled to be returning to the Prudential Center in Newark for this year’s VMAs,” Bruce Gillmer of Paramount said in a statement. “Celebrating one of our biggest nights in music with the Garden State’s incredible fans has been our goal since last year’s highly successful event.”
Last year’s award show was hosted by LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow with an array of performances from Bad Bunny, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Lizzo, Blackpink and more. The 2023 MTV VMAs will be held on September 12 and is set to air in 150 countries.
Stay tuned for forthcoming details about who will host and perform at this year’s award show.
