Segway Taps Hasbro for Limited Edition 'Transformers' Series That's More Than Meets the Eye

Segway-Ninebot is recognized as the pioneer in micro-mobility transportation. The brand continues to push innovation in the market with the development of its state-of-the-art short-distance vehicles widely utilized for recreation and as alternatives to cars, bikes and public transport.

Segway-Ninebot has partnered up with Hasbro for a Transformers-themed collection consisting of the Go-Kart Pros, GT2 Super Scooter and C8 Kickscooter that pays homage to franchise characters Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron.

The Go-Kart Pros, which take on Optimus Prime and Bumblebee-inspired looks, are a fun staple in Segway’s lineup. The model, built with a chassis crafted from steel, can reach top speeds of 23 mph with the ability to drive 15.5 miles per every charge. Race car designed front tires also offer superior traction, with the TPE rear tires primed for drifting maneuvers through the use of hand and lever brakes. The Go-Kart Pros, which have been performance-tested on racetracks, are ideal for speedsters and adrenaline seekers looking for something a bit more portable and easy to drive.

Additionally, each of these special edition Segway Go-Kart Pros can convert into a Segway self-balancing scooter, all you’ll need to do is detach the rear wheels of the kart to complete the modification. From the fender to the spoiler, the Go-Kart Pros feature the iconic colors and details of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Autobot motifs are detailed on the back alongside decor plaques in metallic blue or gold, in reference to each character. The plates also signify the limited edition number of the model. For the full fun franchise experience, Transformers-inspired haptic sounds can be enabled within each Go-Kart Pros. and also come equipped with a Bluetooth speaker featuring Transformers-inspired haptic sounds when powered on and off.

The Segway and Transformers collection also includes a Megatron-inspired GT2 Super Scooter. Crafted for speed and thrill, the GT2 Super Scooter has six riding modes and can reach top speeds of 43 mph with up to 55 miles of range per charge. The dual suspension and 11-inch tubeless self-sealing tires make this the perfect all-terrain ride. The Megatron-inspired model comes in matte and metallic dark grey and red accents featuring two plaques. One plaque features the Decepticon motif, while the other shows Megatron’s “Do as I Command” tagline.

Rounding out the collection is the kids Bumblebee-inspired C8 Kickscooter. Designed for younger riders, the C8 Kickscooter has three ride modes and can generate top speeds of 10 mph and six miles of range per charge. The scooter is offered in Bumblebee’s black and yellow tones along with the Autobot character’s imagery featured on the scooter’s platform. Adorned on the front is the iconic Autobots symbol.

The Megatron GT2 Super Scooter, Bumblebee Go-Kart Pro and Bumblebee C8 Kickscooter are now available at store.segway.com ranging from $249.00 USD to $3,999.00 USD. The Optimus Prime Go-Kart Pro, which is the highlight of the collection, will be the last model released on May 16 at store.segway.com for $2,299.99 USD. Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Go-Kart Pros, along with Megatron GT2 Super Scooter, will be limited to under 2,000 units, while the Bumblebee C8 Kickscooter will also be offered in a limited quantity.
