The Lost ‘Johnny Bravo’ x ‘Dragon Ball Z’ Episode Has Been Uncovered

The Lost 'Johnny Bravo' x 'Dragon Ball Z' Episode Has Been Uncovered

Adding to all the lost media Internet archivists have uncovered, YouTuber LSuperSonicQ recently shared an unlikely collaboration that aired on Cartoon Network back in the ’90s. Shared on Internet Archive, the lost episode of JBVO: Your All Request Cartoon Show saw the universes of Johnny Bravo and Dragon Ball Z collide.

The episode of the fourth-wall-breaking talk show, a spin-off of Johnny Bravo, saw the character based on Elvis Presley and James Dean review cartoon episode requests from callers. On May 5, 2000, a caller named Jennifer from Sterling, Colorado asked the character to watch her favorite episode of Dragon Ball Z. The Pathos of Frieza episode that showed the end of Goku and Frieza’s iconic battle was shown sped up to fit JBVO‘s runtime and Johnny Bravo shared his playful commentary on the episode with a note to Jennifer.

“There you go. Kinda loses something when you fast forward something, doesn’t it Jennifer,” said Bravo. “Well I’m sorry, little lady. I love that show and I love you so I wanted to play it for ya because this is Your All Request Cartoon Show. Thank ya, pretty momma.”

LSuperSonicQ notes that the episode was only aired once, just like the other 28 episodes of JBVO: Your All Request Cartoon Show, which are also still considered lost. The YouTuber shares he received the video from “Sanders,” the son of a woman that worked on JBVO at Cartoon Network. With the help of another Internet archivist, LSuperSonicQ hopes to share the other 28 episodes currently in Sanders’ possession.
