Miguel dropped off his first new track of the year, titled “Give It To Me,” on Thursday, featuring production from early Kendrick Lamar collaborator, Scoop DeVille.
The new single mixes the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter’s signature vocals over captivating synths, while he sings from his heart about his feelings of desire and being desired. “You’ve been so tied up in your mind these days, I know,” read the lyrics. “A sweet distraction might be what you need to glow / Your body on inferno.”
“Give It To Me” arrives as Miguel’s chart-topping single “Sure Thing,” off his debut album, All I Want Is You, has re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 in the No. 15 spot. The track’s massive resurgence is thanks to TikTok, where 23 million videos have been created using the song.
This latest track follows Miguel’s 2021 EP, titled Art Dealer Chic Vol. 4, and his single for the Gully soundtrack, dubbed “VIOLENT DREAMS.” The artist has not released a full-length record since 2017’s War & Leisure. Looking ahead, Miguel is gearing up to headline the Lovers & Friends Festival in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 6.
