Saint-Tropez is intrinsically connected to Hedi Slimane‘s vision for CELINE — it is the epicenter of French Riviera-chic, a place that still remembers the golden days of vintage cinema, timeless class and peak celebrity status. And the best way to get around the district is in a drop-top car, such as the vintage MINI Moke.
Now, CELINE unveils the Slimane-customized MINI Moke as part of its Summer 2023 collection and “La Collection de Saint-Tropez” campaign. Think Brigitte Bardot meets rockstar edginess, as if the CELINE muse has taken a break in the sunshine.
The result sees the vintage car painted in a glossy khaki green hue and finessed within an inch of its inanimate life. Classic MINI wheels have been refurbished and now center around the House’s signature Triomphe logo, which also graces the wooden steering wheel.
Elsewhere, CELINE adds the Triomphe symbol to the re-upholstered canvas hood and dashboard, the latter of which is complete with tan leather detailing, while the gear stalk is also treated to a House-specific makeover. Rounding out the car are a set of wicker seats à la Riviera traditions, CELINE-branded dials, and a new set of LED-ring headlights.

In other news, Hypebeast also recently visited the French Riviera to drive Jaguar’s final F-Type R 75.
