Season three of Lucasfilm‘s beloved The Mandalorian rolled its credits this week, but it’s still finding a way to make headlines thanks to its latest collaborative effort. After uniting with Volkswagen for the launch of Obi-Wan Kenobi and joining forces for a duo of ID. Buzz cars in 2022, the Disney+ series recently announced its reconnection with the German motor vehicle manufacturer to uncover its latest ID. Buzz that’s inspired by The Mandalorian.
“Last year’s campaign was so successful, and I had so much fun designing the wraps for the Obi-Wan cars, where we did the light side and the dark side,” Doug Chiang — Lucasfilm VP and creative director said. “So this time we thought it would be terrific if we could come up with another idea.”
For the concept behind this car collab, Chiang wanted to visually capture the essence of Djarin’s modded Naboo N-1 starfighter. He achieves this by darkening the Buzz logo and taillights to match its glossy gray color scheme that calls out its beskar armor, supplying the rims and rear windows with the mudhorn logo and adding the yellow strip from the original ship’s skin.
