Atlanta-born singer-songwriter Clairo is returning to the musical stage with the release of an all-new track, “For Now.” The single marks Clairo’s first release since 2021, which arrived alongside her highly-anticipated Sling album tour.
The musician recently took to Instagram to announce “For Now,” an unreleased demo she created years prior. Clairo’s laidback energy is maintained across the mellow track, touching on sensitive subjects of heartbreak against delicate piano notes. The song is pulled from the archives for a good cause, raising charitable funds in support of gun control and transgender rights across the US.
“For Now” is available for download for $1 USD via Bandcamp, and all proceeds will be divided between two non-profit organizations: For The Gworls and Everytown. The former provides aid for the “rent and affirmative surgeries” of Black transgender people, while the latter fights to end gun violence in hopes of a safer tomorrow.
