Announced back in September, the anime reboot for Rurouni Kenshin has now received a new visual. The new visual shares a look at the four main characters of a series and announces a rough release date of the anticipated series. Fuji TV shared that the Rurouni Kenshin anime will premiere on Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block in July.
Re-adapting Nobuhiro Watsuki’s iconic manga, the anime will be centered around Kenshin Himura, Kaoru Kamiya, Sanosuke Sagara, and Yahiko Myojin. Returning to the main manga series, Rurouni Kenshin chronicles Kenshin Himura, once a deadly assassin during the Meiji Restoration, who is trying to find a new life beyond violence, meeting powerful friends and foes along the way.
Nobuhiro Watsuki introduced Rurouni Kenshin through a 28-volume serialization in Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine back in 1994, going on to spur a 95-episode TV anime series, an anime film, three original video anime projects, five live-action films, and a stage musical.
