Porsche Is Launching Fully Electric Cayenne SUV Within the Decade

Porsche is making moves towards an EV-centric business plan within the decade.

While Porsche consumers are still waiting for the all-electric Porsche Macan that has been promised to be on its way, the company’s CEO Oliver Blume recently confirmed at the Annual Press Conference earlier this week that the popular Porsche Cayenne will be arriving in an all-electric version in the second half of the decade. This will mark the company’s fourth EV expected to release around that time.

The news is unsurprising as luxury carmakers are moving towards EV models. The brand also confirmed an electric Macan back in 2020, signaling that Porsche’s other models will likely follow suit. Although not much was revealed about the car, Blue did say that the electric Porsche Cayenne will be based on the SUV’s fourth generation and not the third. While it is confirmed, consumers should not expect the EV to hit retailers for at least a few years.

In the past, Blume also announced that Porsche has been developing an all-new electric SUV last summer. The EV does not have a name just yet but is slated to be a higher grade than the Macan and Cayenne. By the time this unnamed SUV and the Cayenne arrive on the market, Porsche would likely have five EVs in the lineup.

In other automotive news, Maserati shared its first look at its Grecale Moodena SUV.
