Sports mogul Michael Jordan celebrates his upcoming 60th birthday by giving back. MJ is donating $10 million USD to the Make-A-Wish foundation, the largest donation received from an individual in the history of the organization.
In a news release, Jordan states that he hopes to inspire others to also give back and help fulfill the wishes of kids, “For the past 34 years, it’s been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids. Witnessing their strength and resilience during such a tough time in their lives has truly been an inspiration.” His support of the Make-A-Wish foundation dates back to 1989.
Jordan has been named Make-A-Wish Chief Wish Ambassador since 2008. On his decision to make a donation for his 60th birthday, he said, “I can’t think of a better birthday gift than seeing others join me in supporting Make-A-Wish so that every child can experience the magic of having their wish come true.”
