And so begins the first Fashion Week of 2023, bringing with it plenty of street style inspiration to get our teeth into. Haute Couture Fashion Week kicked off in Paris this week and while the runway looks dazzled us with new and exciting (and often surreal) designs, the street style is just as noteworthy.
This first fashion week of the year provides an early glimpse at the trends that stylish people are starting to commit to for the new year. Though we are still in the midst of the winter season (as the weather keeps rudely reminding us) the style set haven’t let that dampen their efforts.
For 2023, we’re seeing injections of joy through playful colours and energetic fringing. It’s no surprise that denim styles are having a moment considering the trend’s omnipresence on the SS23 runways—it was slouchy silhouettes that I noticed were the option du jour across the French capital. It’s also important to note there is still a reliance on the classics. Not new, but still worth mentioning, neutral tones cropped up over and over again as an easy yet impactful look to follow.
