In the next installment of How To, Hypebeast taps automotive enthusiast and social media personality Christina Roki to show you how to detail your vehicle like a pro to get it show-ready. Roki’s YouTube channel, Christina & Grant, shared with her partner Grant Sloan, features a slew of car reviews, test drives and customization tutorials briefing you on how to take your ride to the next level. In this How To demonstration, Roki tests her skills on the Toyota GR Supra. “What I love about the Toyota GR Supra is the fast shifting eight speed automatic transmission,” says Roki. Paired with the vehicle’s quintessential race car design — drawing inspiration from the FT-1 Concept, 2000GT and the A80 Supra — the Toyota GR Supra holds a special place in the manufacturer’s sports car legacy.
In six steps, Roki proves how easy it is to keep your ride enviable and up to show standards, starting with a surface-level rinse to remove loose debris and dirt from the vehicle using a pressure washer or standard hose. Swapping the spigot out for a foam cannon, Roki advises to mix a solution of water and car shampoo, coating the vehicle before extensively rinsing it. “You can pretty much get these anywhere. They’re pretty cheap,” she adds. The foam cannon, though a standard industry tool, allows the solution to stick to the vehicle for longer, thus giving you more time to section off parts of the car as you progress. A microfiber cloth is then used to dry the doors, side skirts and front lip.
Once the chassis has dried, Roki shifts her focus to the wheels and rims, primarily using an all-wheel cleaner to address the built-up grime embedded around the tires. A light misting of tire sheen coats the tires and is left to dry. As for the interior cleaner, a thin veil of polish is applied to a microfiber cloth and meticulously used throughout the dashboard, steering wheel and more, providing an immediately luxe appearance to the cabin.
