Netflix has just announced a release date, and revealed the first trailer for its documentary that follows the 2022 PGA TOUR season.
Coming from the same producers who brought the drama of Formula One to life in Drive to Survive, the new documentary called Full Swing will release on February 15, 2022, and star the likes of Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, Dustin Johnson, Tony Finau and more.
When the documentary was first announced a year ago, golf fans were enticed by the idea of the sport receiving the same onrush of attention that came to F1 as a result of the DTS series. But even they couldn’t have anticipated the drama that would ensue throughout the ‘22 season, as a host of the tour’s biggest names like Dustin Johnson, Bryson Dechambeau and Brooks Koepka jumped ship to join the upstart LIV Tour.
In some ways the drama overshadowed the events taking place at the year’s four majors, as PGA TOUR poster boy Rory McIlroy traded barbs with LIV commissioner Greg Norman, and other defectors like Ian Poulter. “My money is on for blowing up,” bullishly suggested the show’s producer Chad Mumm back in November, so it’s safe to say this documentary is unlikely to disappoint.
