Today, NPR released its latest Tiny Desk concert with BTS’ leader, RM.
The new musical endeavor marks RM’s first solo Tiny Desk appearance in support of his debut album, Indigo, which was released today. Shot in South Korea, the home concert channels the serene and balanced nature of BTS’ leader with a smooth three-track performance. Appearing in the concert are “Yun” and “Still Life,” which are from the new album, alongside the 2018 track “seoul.”
With the performance, RM offers an inner look at his passions and musical versatility as the rap, hip-hop and funk-laden tracks discuss his love of art and more. “Indigo is about my whole 20’s actually,” said RM. “I’ve been making this album since 2019 with these guys.” Alongside the musical performance, RM offers a discussion on the three songs and what the album represents for him right now.
Indigo is out now with features from the likes of Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Mahalia and more. Check out RM’s Tiny Desk concert in the video above.
