Apple Music is reflecting on the past year of new music with an overhaul of their Replay experience. The revamp recognizes the impact of Apple Music listeners on individual artists and the music community as a whole.
Replay will now offer expanded listening insights and new tools, including a personalized highlight reel reflecting users’ top songs, top albums, top artists, top genres and more. For the superfans on the app, Replay will let them know if they made it into the top 100 listeners of their favorite artist or genre.
Beginning today, all listeners can check until December 31 to look at how their listening habits change and evolve. Come 2023, they’ll be able to share new insights from Replay each week to track their habits throughout the year through a personalized progress bar.
“When we first launched Replay, the feature became an instant fan favorite on Apple Music, and we really wanted to develop the experience further and make it even more special, personal, and unique for subscribers,” vice president of Apple Music and Beats. Oliver Schusser said. “The music we enjoy throughout the year becomes like a soundtrack, and it’s really fun to be able to go back and relive those meaningful and memorable moments over again.”
As for 2022, Justin Bieber and The Kid Laroi triumphed with the top song for their collaboration “STAY.” Hip-hop was the most popular genre, counting for 32 of the top 100 songs, followed by pop with 23 singles on the list.
In other music news, Doja Cat teased her new album: “I have a project that’s going to be quite consistent.”
