RM Sotheby’s Auctions One-Off Factory Matte Black Enzo

RM Sotheby’s Auctions One-Off Factory Matte Black Enzo

Made fourteen years since his passing, the Ferrari Enzo was the first machine made by the Italian marque worthy of taking on the name of its founder, Enzo Ferrari. Of the 400 units ever made, the one-of-one 2004 Ferrari Enzo in focus was the only example to be delivered from the Maranello factory finished in Nero Opaco (Matte Black). At that moment in time, Ferrari‘s color palate for road cars was limited with the vast majority of examples found in red, yellow, or black, with a handful of vehicles donning blue, silver grey, or white.

The blacked-out naturally aspirated V-12 Ferrari hypercar was made for the Brunei royal family, arriving as the crown jewel of its expansive collection recognized as one of the largest the world has ever known. Previously hidden from the world, the factory matte black Enzo, newly nicknamed the “Royal Enzo,” has now been unveiled to the world for the first time via RM Sotheby’s “Sealed” auction with just 5,730 km (3560 mi) on the odometer. Interiors mimic the exterior paintwork with matching Nero leather touches and carpets. Further customizations include large-sized seats and Rosso instruments.

The Ferrari Enzo in Nero Opaco (Lot No. 101) will be available via the RM Sotheby’s Sealed sale from December 5 to 7. more details can be found here.
