Donald Trump’s permanent ban from Twitter has officially been lifted by Elon Musk. At the time of his ban — February 8, 2021 — Trump had one of the biggest followings on the platform with 88 million followers. A prominent user, Trump tweeted over 57,000 times at the time of his banning and has since been active on his Truth Social platform where he has 4.5 million followers.
The choice was decided in a poll by Musk where he asked if the former president should be reinstated on Twitter. With over 15 million votes, Trump was barely brought back with just a 51.8% voting favor. Musk confirmed the news with, “The people have spoken.
