Taylor Swift Seeks Red Redemption, Submits Taylor’s Version to 2023 Grammys

Voting for the 2023 Grammy Awards begins today, and there are a number of notable submissions from Taylor Swift: A year after withholding Fearless (Taylor’s Version) from Grammys consideration, Swift has chosen to submit Red (Taylor’s Version) in the Album of the Year and Best Country Album categories. She also submitted “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (The Short Film)” for consideration in the Record of the Year and Song of the Year categories, and “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)” for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.

Notably, Fearless won Album of the Year and Best Country Album at the 2010 Grammys, while Red was nominated in both categories at the 2014 Grammys but won neither. Explaining the reasoning behind withholding Fearless (Taylor’s Version), a Republic Records representative said last year, “Fearless has already won four Grammys including album of the year, as well as the CMA Award for album of the year in 2009/2010 and remains the most awarded country album of all time.”

Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for Taylor Swift, as well as the Recording Academy, for comment and more information.
