Following a week-long series of Instagram posts, the artist formerly known as Kanye West has been restricted by the social media platform for reportedly violating its policies.
Some of Ye’s content was deleted due to said violation. A Meta spokesperson confirmed to Variety that they have taken measures to temporarily restrict the very vocal creative. These restrictions include posting, commenting as well as messaging – a standard practice for accounts that have violated the platform’s policies. While this has been confirmed, Meta did not confirm which of his posts were the main cause of the restriction. Many have speculated that it was due to his now-deleted post that featured a screenshot of a message he sent to his friend and fellow rapper Diddy that has been heavily criticized online as antisemitic.
In the hours following West’s restricted Instagram use, Ye took to Twitter to voice his frustrations, calling out Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Elon Musk took the opportunity to welcome his friend back to Twitter. Take a look below. Ye’s representatives have not yet commented on the matter.
Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!
