J. Cole is the official cover star for NBA 2K23‘s Dreamer Edition.
The basketball gaming title, which will be exclusively available at Gamestop in the U.S. and Canada beginning September 9, will turn the multi-hyphenate artist into a playable character in MyCareer mode. Additionally, Dreamville artists Bas and Elite will appear in the game to “help players befriend J. Cole and capture the hearts and minds of The City,” according to 2K.
“NBA 2K has long been a place to discover new musical talent through their game and continues to be a gold standard for showcasing all things basketball culture,” J. Cole said in a statement. “It’s been an amazing journey to not only appear on a cover of this year’s game, but to be part of the MyCAREER storyline, soundtrack and bring the Dreamer brand into NBA 2K.”

In May, Cole inked a deal with the Canadian Elite Basketball League’s Scarborough Shooting Stars, with whom he played four games before taking a leave to focus on his tour. Last year, Cole also had a stint on the Basketball Africa League’s Rwanda Patriots BBC, where he played three preliminary games.
