Lucid Air GTP Beats Ferrari LaFerrari By Almost 6 Seconds On Laguna Seca Corkscrew Hillclimb

Shortly after setting a record to become the fastest production car on the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb back in June, Lucid Motors has now down it again at the recent Monterey Car Week, beating out even the Ferrari LaFerrari on the Laguna Seca Corkscrew Hillclimb to once again take home the crown.

Overall, the same Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance car used at Goodwood took a mere 38.89 seconds to finish the course, winning out by nearly six seconds against the 950-horsepower LaFerrari. The five-seat sedan carries a powertrain utilizing two motors that combine to push out a staggering 1,050 horsepower, but it also wins out on the Prancing Horse thanks to the electric system’s instant torque response as well as zero shift times.

With its latest time, it stands as the fourth quickest car for the Laguna Seca climb, inferior only to a Porsche 908 racer, a Lotus Formula 1 car, and a Porsche 911 remastered into racing specs by Gunther Werks. Obviously, this makes the Lucid Air the fastest production car on the track once again.

Elsewhere in the automotive world, Lamborghini says all its vehicles have been sold out until 2024 despite global inflation.
