Why have a birth-day when you can make it a week? Well if it’s good enough for Dua Lipa, it’s good enough for us. The singer, who rang in her 27th birthday on 22 Aug., officially declared it a week of festivities in an Instagram post on 21 Aug. And she certainly kicked off the occasion with a showstopping outfit.
As she partied with pals on a summer getaway — and well-deserved break after delighting crowds on her Future Nostalgia tour — she posted a carousel of photos that saw her shimmering next to a swimming pool, laughing with friends, and shining on a grass verge. Wearing a tiny bra adorned with glistening crystals from Marc Jacobs autumn 22 collection, she channelled that Studio 54 Seventies vibe.
Not many people could pull off the bra, created with strategically placed discs, but there’s no doubt Lipa looked effortlessly glam. The “Physical” singer kept the colour palette fresh and light by teaming the silver top with a white denim maxi skirt, white soft bag, and white sky-high platform Mary Jane heels, also by Marc Jacobs. Lipa broke up the look with a black western waist belt. She later changed into a pair of white sports shorts and tied a white jacket around her waist as the night got later.
Keeping her hair long and straight in a middle parting, with simple glossy eyeshadow and neutral lip, Lipa ensured her shimmering bra top was centre stage. We know Lipa, who has recently been named the honorary ambassador of Kosovo, has a penchant for a sparkly bra too as she performed at the Sunny Hill Festival on 4 Aug. wearing a custom Valentino by Pierpaolo Piccioli bra top and matching miniskirt.
Hundreds of fans were quick to send their best wishes to the star on Instagram. British Vogue editor commented: “Happy birthday beautiful and talented @dualipa. Love you very much ❤️” and Munroe Bergdorf declared her “A Leo Queen!”
Lipa herself has declared this her “birthday week” so we are already excited to see what other outfits she’ll be serving up to ring in her 27th year.
