Gunna Commemorates ‘DS4EVER’ Going Platinum, Promises He’ll “Be Home Soon”

Gunna‘s latest studio album DS4EVER has officially been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), selling one million units in the United States since its release in January.

The artist, who is currently in jail on charges of violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, shared a message on Instagram via his team to commemorate the achievement. “Thankful to have the highest selling hip-hop album this year,” the caption reads. “Miss you all; love you and I’ll be home soon,” it continues, with his name signing off.

DS4EVER marks Gunna’s third studio album with guest appearances from the likes of Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Drake, Kodak Black, Chlöe, Lil Baby, G Herbo, Roddy Ricch and more. The album went on to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 150,000 units sold during its first week.

Gunna is one of the 30 YSL Records associates to have been arrested in May with charges of a 56-count RICO indictment. He was charged of Conspiracy to violate a RICO Act and addressed the situation in June, writing, “For now, I don’t have my freedom. But I am innocent. I am being falsely accused and will never stop fighting to clear my name! The picture that is being painted of me is ugly and untrue. My fans know I love to celebrate life, I love my family, I love travel, I love music, I love my fans. I have all faith that God will grant me justice for the purity in my heart and the innocence of my actions.”

Elsewhere in music, A$AP Rocky has been charged with felony assault with a firearm in connection to a November 2021 shooting.
