Brabus Tunes the Mercedes EQS With Reduced Drag and Increased Range

Brabus Tunes the Mercedes EQS With Reduced Drag and Increased Range

With 45 years under its belt, Brabus is undoubtedly among the best car-tuning imprints in the game. Following its take on the Porsche Taycan Turbo S and the Rolls-Royce Ghost earlier this year, the company has just unveiled its latest revamp — this time, to the Mercedes EQS.

Inspired by high-level aero-efficiency and ultra-modern innovation, the Brabus Mercedes-Benz EQS provides a 40% reduction in aerodynamic lift with carbon air deflectors, a rear diffuser and a rear spoiler. Additionally, with 22-inch Brabus Monoblock M forged wheels, a SportXtra suspension model and top-tier wind tunnel technology, the vehicle’s drag coefficient has improved by a sizable 7.2%. In turn, the lower drag reduces the car’s driving resistance, resulting in a 7% average increase in the speed range between 100 and 140 km/h.

Designed with an exposed Brabus carbon exterior concept and a “Signature Black” finish, the vehicle dons an all-new sporty appearance. The aforementioned wheels, which are available in several designs and diameters, have been tailor-made to align with the wheel wells on the EQS and boast forged “PLATINUM EDITION” rims. Aside from their sleek appearance, the wheels allow for a more agile handling, which can be further enhanced with the plug-and-play Brabus SportXtra module.

As with all Mercedes-Benz models, Brabus offers a multitude of refinement options for the interior of the vehicle, most of which put forth an exclusive Brabus fine leather treatment. The product lineup includes scuff plates with a backlit Brabus logo, as well as aluminum or carbon pedals, high-end floor mats and a velour trunk mat.

In more automotive news, Mercedes-Benz AMG is releasing two special-edition G63 SUVs in Japan.
