Since signing with 23XI Racing, Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan’s official NASCAR team, Kurt Busch has already made a landmark statement in his first season with the newly founded team. In May, Busch won the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway in an official, Jordan Brand-outfitted Toyota Camry. The car’s paint job drew inspiration from the iconic Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” which matched the team’s custom uniforms. Now, ahead of this weekend’s Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway, the 23XI Racing team has unveiled another Jordan Brand-themed paint job, this time pulling from the Air Jordan 11 “Concord.”
Arriving in a more subtle colorway than its “Black Cement” predecessor, this Jordan Brand design recreates the “Concord” look with white around the windows and on the roof while the Air Jordan 11 lacing system is also nodded to. The iconic black patent leather is referenced in a black that wraps around most of the remaining space while Carolina Blue, pulled from the shoe’s outsole, hits the bumpers. Plenty of Jumpman logos in black and white land throughout the car alongside key sponsors such as McDonald’s and Monster Energy. Lastly, the “45” not only is Busch’s race car number but was the number of choice on the heel of the Air Jordan 11 “Concord,” making this a fitting pairing.
Look for Busch to race in his second Jordan Brand look on August 14 at 3pm EDT during the Federated Auto Parts 400, part of NASCAR’s Cup Series.
