Fans of Katsuhiro Otomo will be delighted to learn that he has just confirmed that is currently still working on his first long-form manga since AKIRA. While talked about since 2012, the manga was officially brought back to the light in 2018 by Otomo, although there has yet to be a given timeline.
Leading up to the release of AKIRA on Crunchyroll, Otomo jumped on Twitter to answer questions from fans. One user asked whether or not he would continue creating manga in the future, to which he replied, “Actually, I am drawing it and it may be published somewhere in a little while. Manga is hard work.”
On top of answering questions regarding manga, Otomo revealed his most memorable place as a rice field near his hometown in Tome, Miyagi, and his favorite musicians.
