Chance the Rapper and Joey Bada$$ took to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon stage on Monday to perform their collaborative track “The Highs & The Lows.”
The rappers delivered an inventive rendition of the single, which debuted during Art Basel in Switzerland last month, brought to life by kaleidoscopic visuals and superimposed lyrics. The joint cut was first released alongside a short film produced by Yannis Davy Guibingain France and Italy. Notably, “The Highs & The Lows” is the duo’s second collaboration, following Joey Bada$$’s 2013 single “Wendy N Becky.”
While appearing as a musical guest on the late-night show, Chance also spoke with Fallon about the 10th anniversary of his career-defining 10 Day mixtape and his forthcoming Black Star Line Festival with Vic Mensa, which will take place on January 6 in Accra, Ghana.
“January 6th, we are going to West Africa to Accra, Ghana, and putting on a very important event,” he told Fallon before explaining the historical inspiration behind the festival.
“We invite Black people from everywhere, not just from the U.S., but from the U.K. and from the islands. We’re everywhere,” he added. “So we invite you to come to Accra to be in a space of peace, of connectivity, of music, of art and just love.”
