Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, a forthcoming biopic about the famed musician starring Daniel Radcliffe, will premiere on The Roku Channel on November 4, the streamer announced on Thursday.
The premiere date was revealed alongside an official poster for the film, which sees the back of Radcliffe’s Yankovic posing below the Hollywood sign, complete with curly hair, an accordion and a jacket emblazoned with the film’s title. “Mark your calendars,” Yankovic wrote under the poster on Instagram.
“The biopic holds nothing back, exploring every facet of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like Eat It and Like a Surgeon to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle,” the official synopsis from Roku reads. “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story takes audiences on a truly unbelievable journey through Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of all time.”
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story was directed and co-written by Eric Appel, with co-production from Funny or Die and Tango. Yankovic himself was involved as a writer and producer on the project. In addition to Radcliffe, the film stars Evan Rachel Wood and Rainn Wilson.
