Netflix has announced they are bringing Sam Raimi‘s iconic Spider-Man trilogy to its platform, with subscribers in the United States able to start watching it on the streaming platform starting from August 1.
The announcement was revealed in a tweet showcasing a meme from 2002’s Spider-Man, which features Kirsten Dunst‘s Mary-Jane Watson and Tobey Maguire‘s Peter Parker, with the caption, “He said our Spider-Man trilogy is coming to Netflix on August 1!”
Raimi’s trilogy was released in 2002, 2004 and 2007, and saw Maguire’s Spider-Man battle Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Uncle Ben’s killer Flint Marko/Sandman, Harry Osborn and Venom. Maguire eventually suited up as Spider-Man again for the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man: No Way Home.
