The Boring Company Expands Its Las Vegas Convention Center Loop to the Strip

A year after completing the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop, Elon Musk‘s The Boring Company has now opened its first expansion station, linking the subterranean transport circuit to the Las Vegas Strip. Now connecting tourists and commuters to Resorts World, the new station marks the beginning of a massive city-wide expansion for the $50 million USD project that only began transporting passengers in the middle of last year.

As it stands, the LVCC Loop only carries three stations, but the Boring Company has received approval from the city of Las Vegas to construct a 29-mile tunnel system under the entire city, linking all its most popular destinations including the now-opened Strip as well as the airport, with 54 more stations planned on top of the Strip’s location.

“Today marks a monumental moment not only for our resort, but for Las Vegas,” said Resorts World Las Vegas president Scott Sibella in a press release. “Our passenger station will make a visit to our resort from the Las Vegas Convention Center easier than ever, and eventually connect us to key destinations throughout the city.”

In other related news, Musk has now amassed more than 100 million followers on Twitter.
