Ahead of the premiere of Baz Luhrmann‘s Elvis, Eminem and CeeLo Green have released their collaborative track, titled “The King & I,” off the film’s soundtrack.
“I rolled up like the bottom of a tooth paste tube/ Blue suede shoes, one missin’ a shoe lace too,” Eminem raps on the single, which features production from Dr. Dre. “Two chains, you can call me 2 Chainz/ Ropes hang like Hussein’s noose/ Yeah, they let the fruitcake loose.”
CeeLo then chimes in, rapping, “See, I don’t give a s*** about a thing you say/ I just wanna feel like a king again/ And if you don’t like it you can sit and spin/ Middle fingers up, we ’bout to do this s–t again.”
Aside from Eminem and CeeLo Green, the Elvis soundtrack will include contributions from Stevie Nicks, Kacey Musgraves, Maneskin, Jack White, Tame Impala, Jazmine Sullivan, Gary Clark Jr. and Doja Cat, who previously released the soundtrack’s lead single, “Vegas.”
Since releasing his last album, Music to Be Murdered By, in 2020, Eminem has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, released a 20th-anniversary version of The Eminem Show and headlined the Super Bowl LVI halftime show alongside Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dogg.
Elvis premieres in theaters on June 24. Listen to Eminem and CeeLo Green’s “The King & I” above.
