Shortly after teasing the new series during its Netflix After School preview, Netflix has now dropped a brand new teaser for Sonic Prime introducing both Big the Cat and Froggy. With 24 episodes scheduled for its first season, Sonic Prime is a new 3D animated series following the blue speedster as he journeys through a “strange new multiverse” on a “high-octane adventure.” Deven Mack will be voicing for the character, who undergoes what Netflix describes as a “journey of self-discovery and redemption.”
WildBrain’s Vancouver studio will handle animation and production alongside SEGA, while Ben 10 and Big Hero 6 veteran Man of Action Entertainment will act as showrunners. Unfortunately, other details revolving around the show remain scarce at the moment and there’s no release date yet for Sonic Prime, although it’s expected to hit Netflix before the end of the year.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Netflix and BioWare are teaming up for an animated series based on the Dragon Age franchise.
