Honda Unveils Its First Electric SUV, the Prologue

Honda has teased its upcoming first electric SUV, the Prologue which is expected to arrive in the American market by 2024.

The Prologue is the first of two cars that Honda is developing with General Motors and will also be the company’s first battery-electric vehicle sold in the U.S. By the time it launches in 2024, the Prologue will kickoff Honda’s commitment to the electric sector. Honda hopes to unveil 30 new EVs by 2030 while also planning to at last sell two million units. In 2027, Honda also wants to begin offering affordable EVs developed in tandem with GM.

While the Prologue will be built on a collaborative EV architecture with GM, its other models will be built on Honda’s E Architecture, set to be announced in 2026. Honda has set a goal to sell 60,000 Prologue SUVs in the U.S. by 2024, 70,000 units in 2025 and 300,000 in 2026. All of these milestones add to its main goal of becoming fully electric by 2040.

So far, Honda’s electric lineup is limited in comparison to other carmakers. It recently discontinued its Clarity EV with only the Honda E available in Japan and Europe. Take a look at the upcoming Prologue above.

In other automotive news, Tesla is finally taking reservations for its Semi Truck.
