Jodie, the animated Daria spinoff starring Tracee Ellis Ross, is being produced as a film rather than a series.
According to reports, Ross will remain as the voice of the titular character and will be joined by William Jackson Harper of The Good Place, Kal Penn, Pamela Adlon, Cole Escola, Jojo T. Gibbs, Zosia Mamet, Alex Moffat, Dermot Mulroney, Arden Myrin, Kofi Siriboe, Dulcé Sloan and Heléne Yorke. Jodie will follow the life of Daria’s high school friend post-college, as she starts her career as an intern for the prestigious tech firm, Firstfinity.
The initial series was first revealed in 2018 as an MTV Entertainment Studios show featuring both Daria and Jodie, but the former was removed in 2019 upon the announcement of Ross’ role. Grace Edwards is writing the film and will co-executive produce alongside the actress and Ashley Kohler.
Stay tuned for an official trailer and release date.
