EA Sports has offered new details and first looks for its F1 22 game set to release later this summer. One of the biggest updates is the addition of the Miami International Autodrome, which the teams competed at for the first time ever over the weekend for the inaugural Miami Grand Prix. The tracks in Australia and Abu Dhabi will also feature circuit layout changes and PC players will be able to experience it all in virtual reality via Oculus Rift and HTC Vive for the first time.
Other new features include a Sprint Race format, a 100km dash with no mandatory pit stops which debuted last year at the British Grand Prix, and the game has been altered to be more friendly to players of all levels, with adaptive AI now reacting differently to players’ speed and position on the tracks. Closing details include new optional settings for celebratory formation laps, safety car scenarios, and pitstops which allow players to manually take part and drive if they so wish, providing an extra level of immersion.
F1 22 will be available as a digital Champions Edition version on Playstation, PC, and Xbox on June 28 with a regular version following on July 1st.
In other news, EA is making a Lord of the Rings mobile game.
