Brabus is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion it has built the Brabus 900 Crawler — the company’s first supercar to feature an in-house developed chassis and a four-seater exposed-carbon buggy-style body.

While there are similarities to Mercedes-AMG‘s G 63, very little of the 900 Crawler is shared with the original SUV. Here, this limited-to-15 dune racer features a custom exposed tubular chassis made from high-intensity steel that’s been painted in the brand’s signature red hue, while portal axles at the front and rear raise the car to 53cm of ground clearance, making it possible to tackle almost any terrain it faces.

Elsewhere, height-adjustable special struts with adjustable damping provide up to 160 mm of spring travel, Brabus Monoblock HD forged wheels are mounted to 40 x 13.50 R 20 off-road tires, underbody panels are made from aluminum, carbon fiber and kevlar, and a carbon buggy-style roof adds both rigidity and, of course, a truly epic aesthetic.

As expected, everything about the 900 Crawler is supersized. Extra-wide front and rear wheel arches house the aforementioned wheels, roof-integrated LED lights are brighter than anything road-legal, and two matte black tailpipes that exit from the side below the carbon rocker panels on either side of the vehicle in front of the rear wheels add to the familiar G Wagon aesthetic.

Powering the car is Brabus’ 900 unit — a 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 pushes out 900 HP and 1,250 Nm of torque, resulting in a 0-62 MPH time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 100 MPH, which is limited because of the wheels.

Brabus will only be producing 15 examples of the 900 Crawler, with five releasing each year from 2022-2024. Each will cost from €749,000 EUR (approx. $793,000 USD). Take a closer look at the car above.

Elsewhere in the automotive world, Brabus also tuned the Maybach GLS.
