Future has officially dropped off his ninth studio album, I NEVER LIKED YOU.
Clocking in at 50 minutes, the 16-track record features guest appearances from the artist formerly known as Kanye West on “Keep It Burnin’,” Gunna and Young Thug on “For a Nut,” Drake on “I’m On One” and “Wait For U” — the latter of which also hears Tems — EST Gee on “Chickens” and Kodak Black on “Voodoo.”
I NEVER LIKED YOU marks Future’s first solo full-length effort since May 2020’s High Off Life, which opened at No. 1 and, his first album release since Pluto x Baby Pluto with Lil Uzi Vert, which dropped a few months later in November. “Putting this project together is just people understanding that I love hard,” the rapper said during his recent GQ cover story. “Probably love the hardest. I wanted to showcase my skills as far as melodies and topics and being vulnerable.”
“I’m putting myself out there. Sharing my lifestyle with the world. Sharing my pain with the world. Sharing my ups, sharing my downs with the entire universe. I believe in the energy of the universe and manifestation,” he added. “That’s why I’m giving myself, because I’m willing to correct myself. I don’t want to just…be wrong. I’m willing to give you all of me, so you can tell me how to build on me, and make me a better me.”
