Immediately after his stunning sixth-round knockout of Dillian Whyte for both the WBC and The Ring Heavyweight Championship titles, Tyson Fury called out the current UFC Heavyweight Champion, Francis Ngannou. Joined by Ngannou during his post-fight interview, Fury discussed a potential bout with the Cameroonian mixed martial artist. The 94,000 in attendance at Wembley Stadium in England were ecstatic at the thought of a meeting between the two, following months of talk.
The call-out comes after Tyson Fury revealed that he would be making his retirement ahead of his fight with Dillian Whyte. The victory brings his record to 32-0-1 and with his accomplishments, the boxer believes there is nothing left to do.
A potential exhibition fight with Francis Ngannou would need to wait for the UFC fighter’s contract with the organization to end in 2022 and recovery from an ACL surgery. The potential match-up between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou would be the biggest heavyweight fight in combat sports history.
